Here at Campus Technologies, we've been working with owners and operators of Student Housing throughout the crisis to find ways to support residents and property staff through the use of technology.
CCTV - VISIBILITY FROM ANYWHERE ANYTIME
One of the challenges that Student Housing operators have been facing is how to manage an operating community when less staff are present on a daily basis. We've been helping with our CCTV offerings - putting access to cameras and therefore property visibility in the hands of the people that need it whether they are on site, in another town or across the country in a corporate office. The days of having to sit in front of a TV in a maintenance closet to view camera images is in the past - now we can securely provide real time and historical views on all CCTV cameras on any device at any location at any time.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
In addition, we've been programming CCTV systems to only record when something happens using motion detection so that you don't waste storage space on pictures of empty corridors - this can provide up to 180 days of recordings at your fingertips. Infra-red night vision provides low light capability, and we're using 180 degree and 360 degree view cameras to reduce the number of cameras needed to view broad areas. License Plate Recognition cameras can record all the comings and goings in your parking lots.
We call this use of technology to maintain better social distancing 'technical distancing'.
The result? A reduced on-site staff footprint, reducing exposure for staff and residents.
